Abdurrahim Hocagil, PhD, received his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, from Ege University in 2005, his Master of Management degree from Cambridge College in 2010, and his Doctorate degree in the Global Leadership Program with a concentration in Organizational Management from Indiana Institute of Technology in 2020. Dr. Hocagil has over ten years of management experience, having worked at various organizations in both the USA and Canada. In 2022, Dr. Hocagil joined Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, ON, Canada, and Conestoga College, Kitchener, ON, Canada, as a contract teaching faculty member. Since then, he has been teaching various undergraduate and graduate level courses at the business schools, including Management and Leadership Skills, Introduction to Business, Human Resource Management, Recruitment and Selection, Decision Making for Managers (MBA), Organizational Behavior (MBA), Leadership and Team Building, and Organizational Behavior II (Organization Theory). Dr. Hocagil began working at OSTIM Technical University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, as an adjunct faculty member in September 2023 and joined the faculty as an assistant professor as of January 2025. Dr. Hocagil’s research interests include Global Leadership and Followership, Management, Organizational Behavior, Internalization, and Multinational Organizations. He has served as the chair of the Followership Member Community of the International Leadership Association and has served as a coordinating council member of the Teaching Followers Courage organization, which assists academicians and consultants in applying Leadership and Followership in research, curricula, workshops, and organizational culture. Additionally, Dr. Hocagil has participated in organizing first and second of the Annual Global Followership Conferences in Canada and the USA as a volunteer organizing member and currently serves as the chair of the research track of the fourth Annual Global Followership conference (2025).
